Company
The Crisis and Contingency Training Company helps organisations prepare their contingency training and plans for major incidents - whether accidental or terrorist related.
Our expertise and intensive training courses, run by former senior police officers, will produce with you a strategy to minimise disruption to your operations, staff and customers.
Since CCTC started in 1999, we have trained more than 2500 staff from major businesses throughout the UK. Thousands of more delegates have also attended CCTC seminars during this time. The Business Community is a major stakeholder in the Government’s Counter Terrorism Strategy. All CCTC courses compliment the Government strategy which can be best summed up in four words: Prevent, Pursue, Protect and Prepare.
Our courses cover all aspects of major incident management (also known as integrated emergency management), including business resilience, contingency planning, liability, health and safety issues and dealing with the media. After attending our courses clients tell us they feel far more confident about handling a serious incident and protecting their company’s reputation.
Our core team includes some of the country’s former most senior police officers with many years of experience in public order and counter terrorism, one of the UK’s leading lawyers on health and safety and public liability and former BBC Home Affairs Correspondents.
Our course director Tony Speed, a former Scotland Yard Assistant Commissioner, has unparalleled knowledge and experience of strategic and tactical issues surrounding disasters and major events.
Mike Davies, a former Chief Superintendent at Scotland Yard also specialising in public order, set up CCTC because he saw that many organisations were “totally unprepared for the day when disaster could strike.”
Mark Scoggins is regarded as one of the country’s leading lawyers on health and safety, liability and public inquiries and is described by delegates as a “hypnotic” speaker.
Peter Shawdon: Was a very senior Solicitor working for New Scotland Yard and the Metropolitan Police Service. His expertise includes terrorism legislation, health and safety, evacuation procedures and issues around Duty of Care.
Michael Messinger: He has a unique experience of strategic decision making in fast time at major events during more than 30 years service with Metropolitan Police. His hands on knowledge and hard earned expertise are second to none.
Derek Pollock: As a serving senior officer in London he worked at the scene of numerous terrorist incidents and has a wealth of command and practical experience in this field.
